This illustration from 1856
is of a royal visit to a Lithograph factory. From the Times: "On
Tuesday week, their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and Prince
Alfred, accompanied by Mr Gibbs, Dr Becker and Colonel Biddulph,
honoured the establishment of Messrs Day & Son, lithographers to
the Queen, with a visit, in order to inspect the progress of the many
important works on chromo-lithography now being produced in this
eminent firm."
A look at daywear suits, where a doctor and a colonel wear the same
shape of dark coat for a visit, with the highest hats... also we get to
see a boy's hat and a work apron.
