This daguerreotype of a
husband and wife was made by Cartwright. He wears a widely
double-breasted waistcoat and his cravat in a slightly loose bow. It is
not dated but the style of his wife's dress narrows it down to the
1840s or 50s, and narrower, tighter cravat bows were fashionable in the
1850s so we'll say this is from the 1840's... though if anyone reading
this knows when "Cartwright" was in business, let us know.
